Unfortunately, there were a lot of tributes at this year’s GRAMMYs, but there were done with such class and honor that most of them made highlights from the show.
5. Taylor Swift’s Inspiring Speech for Album of the Year
Taylor Swift was a big winner last night and made history by being the first woman to win Album of Year twice at the GRAMMYs. In her acceptance speech she had these inspiring words to say:
“And as the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame. “
Before you start the “she’s not country”. She started out in our format and it was her country career that launched her to her stardom, so we’re totally taking credit for her. :)
4. B.B. King Tribute
It was a big night for Chris Stapleton, who won 2 GRAMMYs, but he showed why he won when he broke out his guitar for this tribute. Teamed up with Bonnie Raitt and Gary Clark Jr., the threesome did a guitar fueled tribute.
3. Little Big Town Perform “Girl Crush”
Little Big Town had the crowd in awe when they sang their hit and GRAMMY winning song “Girl Crush”.
2. Glenn Frey Tribute
The passing of Glenn Frey was tragic. His music has been so inspirational for other musician of almost every genre. Seeing the remaining Eagles member and Jackson Browne paying tribute was such a classy way to honor him.
- Carrie Underwood and Sam Hunt perform “Take Your Time” and “Heartbeat” together.
Carrie Underwood has an amazing voice and then you throw in the talents of Sam Hunt, this performance was destined to be awesome. We found out early last week that the pair would be doing Carrie’s song “Heartbeat” which features Sam, but thankfully they incorporated Sam a little more and began the performance by singing Sam’s song “Take Your Time”.
